THEMES:

CORONATION:
*Please take note that all detentions need to be served by friday afternoon or you will not be allowed to attend the coronation dance.
*It's Coronation Week, Swedes! To rep those athletes and all the amazing competitors we have here at GHS, our Coronation theme is "Go for the Gold!" Let's win it all! All Coronation events are sponsored by the GHS Student Council. Because our overall theme is, "GO FOR THE GOLD," we've planned spirit day themes that focus on the Olympics!
There might not be snow on the ground, but Tuesday will make you wish there was – "Hit the Slopes" and wear your best winter gear OR sport your favorite jersey!
Swedes, you know your favorite Winter Olympic sport is CURLING…so Wednesday "(Hair)Do It Up!" with a Crazy Hair Day!
It takes a lot to be a great student, a great teammate…and carrying everything that goes with it can sometimes be a challenge, so on Thursday, "Pack Like a Champion" and carry your books in anything EXCEPT your backpack!
And on Friday, it's the Closing Ceremonies, where the teams celebrate their success – let's show off our Swede pride by wearing our best Swede gear!
*Hey, Swedes -- for this week to be successful and fun for all, be sure you follow the school dress code and pay special attention to your choices -- stay away from any attire that may be insensitive or inappropriate. Refer to the posters around the school or ask a Student Council member if you have any questions about spirit week days!
*Seniors -- you have until the end of the day on Tuesday to sign up to be part of the Coronation ceremony, so check your school email and submit the form. (Please move Mrs. Meisinger's info about the rehearsal to follow this announcement.)
*Students in grades 9-12 who are bringing an out of town guest to the dance must submit the Google form in their email to access the paperwork to allow their guest to attend Check your school email for the information. Out-of-town and out-of-school dates need to be signed up by the end of the day Wednesday and completed forms returned by the end of the day Thursday – see Mrs. Long if you have questions about your form.
*Finally, the coronation dance will follow the ceremony in the elementary gym from 9:00pm until 12:00am Saturday night. Admission is $5 per person. Doors will be closed at 10:00. This event is semi-formal - please no jeans or hats! No outside food or drink is permitted and all hats will be checked at the breathalyzer station before you get to the dance.
*On Thursday, Coronation Rehearsal will be held during Swede Foundations in the NORTH gym. This will include senior candidates, class reps and all seniors in the line-up. after rehearsal, they will go to 3rd period.
